On the 30^th May 2020 the Mpostcode team and supporters celebrated the business hub’s 1^st birthday and reflected on a fantastic first 12 months.

The first nine months (pre-coronavirus) focus was to build a community of businesses, all proud to operate in Manchester and keen to network and be more visible to their neighbours and the wider world. Some of the many happy milestones included:

• Membership grew quickly and now stands at over 500 businesses
• The teams LinkedIn reach grew to over 20,000 followers giving any member news a wide audience
• The monthly networking events started in September and by February were attracting well over 100 people. A great mix of smiles, networking and business development.
• Recognition of our Manchester Carbon Heroes also began in September with 8 awards presented to date.
• Gold Membership was launched at the end of 2019 to give those businesses active in the community the chance to differentiate themselves and play a part in guiding Mpostcode’s future development.

The final three months (during lockdown) have seen a change of emphasis, away from events and physical networking toward a greater focus of virtual visibility.

The team has enjoyed the new development of a YouTube channel for member videos, promoted on LinkedIn and the website. Several of the videos have seen in excess of 500 views, a great way to promote your business in a non-salesy way.

Following member recommendation, we have also launched JIM (Jobs in Manchester) a free to post jobs board dedicated to jobs available in Manchester. JIM is available to any business recruiting in Manchester to post a vacancy (Full Time/Part Time/Temporary etc) all applications will be sent directly without filtering and not retained by Mpostcode.

What is Mpostcode.co.uk?

Mpostcode is a modern business hub with lots of ideas and enthusiasm to enable Manchester Businesses to find each other, trade with each other and ultimately minimise our cities carbon footprint. We will continue to innovate to follow this philosophy.

We can do most things for free currently, as we are sponsored by Greenlight Computers both financially and with ongoing website development from their subsidiary Greenlight Web. We are actively seeking additional sponsors who believe in what Mpostcode business hub is trying to build and would welcome any enquiries.
