About MBH

Who are we?

MBH is a community of businesses, charities and organisations based in and around the Greater Manchester region. We host numerous business networking events every month both within the bustling city centre and the quirky outskirts. You can find all our upcoming events on the events page.

We’re a thriving business networking community, with a drive to be more sustainable. By providing information about local organisations on our online directory, we want to promote B2B relationships within the local area, and by keeping trade local, we can reduce both cost and pollution as well as keeping the local economy healthy.

Our aim is to boost the visibility of our members and provide a helpful source of information to users both locally and globally.

MBH Background

MBH started as a research & development project in 2018 with the goal of creating a community of businesses and other organisations keen to work with each other locally. Greenlight Computers Ltd have sponsored MBH from its inception and continue to be a supportive sponsor. In a bid to become more sustainable, we value making local and connections and relationships within the north west as each local trade deal reduces our region’s carbon footprint and avoids excessive travel, import and export, which then lead to us launching the prestigious North West Carbon Heroes award to recognise those businesses taking demonstrative action to reduce their carbon footprint.

The initial drive was to build a community of 1,000 Manchester businesses looking to increase their trade locally for the long-term benefit of their businesses and the environment. Kyle Anthony was appointed to lead this initiative and put a lot of time and effort into making MBH what it is today. An exceptional contribution to the business community of Manchester.

MBH has grown to a community 2k followers on LinkedIn and a substantial following on Eventbrite. The monthly business networking events rapidly became a centrepiece for MBH, attracting 50 – 100 businesses to each event and showcasing some of the city’s greatest venues. When Covid hit in 2020, it seemed that all events would have to cease, but Kyle was adamant that he needed to keep the momentum going with networking events, as although the world stopped for a moment, it didn’t mean all businesses stopped. He started to arrange online networking events, hosted by his good friends and MBH members Aaron Dean and Sara Starling. The networking events were a huge hit and helped make MBH what it is today.

Fast forward to now, MBH is one of the leading business networking platforms in the north west, hosting successful in-person networking events every month in and around the Manchester area.

In March 2024, Kyle decided to step down from his MBH role to pursue a career in healthcare within the NHS. Kyle already had a strong background in the healthcare industry, having worked and trained within the NHS previously. He has been an excellent leader of MBH and he will be greatly missed.

Thank you Kyle on behalf of the team and the members of the MBH community.

Leah Bentley came on the scene mid-April 2023 and slowly started to assist Kyle with the functionality of the MBH events and slowly became a firm favourite at networking events both within MBH and at other networking events in Manchester. It only seemed right to offer Leah the new role of events manager once Kyle stepped down, and she has taken to the new role fantastically.

Leah will now be leading all future networking events, managing new and existing MBH members and taking in all new enquiries going forward. If you have an event space, are interested in speaking at an event or, want to become a member, get in touch today!

Future Plans

Our memberships are growing faster than we could have ever expected, we’ve reached well over 1000 business members, and with growth comes great new ideas and demands from our enthusiastic members, and we are listening!

At the moment we are focussing on continuing to create the best and most welcoming business networking events in the North West. With future plans to create a luxury brand for enhanced learning and collaboration.

We plan to launch exciting new portals on MBH regularly, and to grow the site into a favourite for business people in and around Greater Manchester and those businesses planning to come to the area.

We have a dedicated events page on our website, outlining our upcoming events, so be sure to keep a lookout for an event near you! We have also collaborated with a Manchester based job board – JIM (Jobs in Manchester) who offer a jobs board exclusively for the local area. They have offered JIM job tokens as part of our membership options, so be sure to see if any of the memberships would be of any interest to you.

So, visit our networking events and our website regularly to see what plans we have to help local businesses and organisations in the future.

We’re award winning too!

We are so proud to be presented with the Industry Excellence Partnership award by The Manchester College for the second year running!
