Steven Barcas has been in the construction industry for 30 years, initially working for a building contractor for a period of 12 years, attaining a City & Guilds Certificate in Plumbing. In later years, he has been involved in structural remedial work on domestic properties that had been affected by subsidence. This then led to him becoming employed by a national loss adjusting company and a structural engineering practice over an 8 year period. During that time he studied and attained an ICIOB Category for Project Management under the umbrella of the Chartered Institute of Building. Member no. 1427674 Over the last 10 years Steven has worked independently in both the commercial and residential sectors, works including extensions, loft and cellar conversions and other structural aesthetic changes to dwellings. In the commercial sector contracts have included care homes, national retail outlets, and industrial units. Such works require appropriate levels of insurance and conformance to CDM requirements.
